Eliminate negative words from your vocabulary.
This point seems easy enough, doesn't it? You probably think that all you have to do is figure out which words are negative and refrain from using them again. Well, the harsh reality is that this is easier said than done. Our thoughts can come out of practically nowhere. If you have been a negative thinker for a long time, then you will be hearing those negative words in your mind, whether you like it or not. So this is where self-awareness and self-control come into play. If you're self-aware, you'll know exactly when you're about to launch into a tirade full of negativity, whether it's against yourself or someone else. You will know because you can feel the negativity building up inside you. If you are self-aware, you will stop it. Put out the fire with water, so to speak. That way, you won't hurt yourself or harm others with your verbal attack. So, what to do? Well, you can silence your negative inner voice or you can change those negative thoughts to positive ones. The choice is yours. Depending on the situation, you can keep your mouth shut if you feel you can't find the right (positive) words to say. Then, when you have cleared your mind and thought things through, say those positive words. You will feel better and the person or people you are talking to will not be affected by the negativity. We should all understand how words work. They are powerful, that's for sure. So get in the habit of saying positive words with a more positive attitude.
