So a few months ago, I was in my monthly Tiger21 meeting in Austin and our Chairman Chris handed out a book that was titled, “How Not To Die” by Dr. Michael Greger.
The marketer in me appreciated the title so I took it home and started to learn more about Dr. Greger and his work.
Our community of entrepreneurs is comprised of people who are into maximizing our personal performance whether that’s in our role as a leader, or through our health and fitness.
And over the past few years, the focus has been on things like high-fat, low carb, paleo diets, Ketosis, Bulletproof coffee and the like thanks to the research and personal testing done by Tim Ferriss and our recent podcast guest Dave Asprey.
And yet Dr. Greger’s research, as you’ll hear today, points to a plant-based diet as the ideal food source if you want to live a long, disease-free life.
So what’s the truth? And is there an ideal, one-size-fits-all diet for homo sapiens, or do genetics or your gut biome determine which diet is actually best for you?
Well today we’re going to do our best to answer these questions in what I believe is a much-needed discussion about the foods we’re eating today.
This week’s recommended resource is a device called the Human Charger by Valkee, and it’s awesome piece of new technology that helps you reduce the symptoms of jet-leg. I’m actually about to board a plane from Australia back to the US which will be an 18-hour endeavor, and my Human Charger is definitely in my pocket. So if you have an international trip in your future, make sure you check it out.
