404 Ink

The award-winning alternative independent book publisher.
404 Ink was founded in 2016 by Heather McDaid & Laura Jones-Rivera, with the idea that publishing could be a little louder and a little more fun. We still feel that way today.

Our aim is to support the careers of new and emerging writers, and we believe in quality over quantity. That means not publishing to fill a schedule, but publishing because the book really needs to be read.

Our authors and books have won awards including the Saltire Society First Book of the Year, the Outstanding Literature Award at the Scottish Culture Awards, and are Scottish Book Trust New Writers Awardees, as well as appearing in The List Hot 100 and being shortlisted for many more. They've been featured in Huffington Post, Elle, Alternative Press, New York Magazine, Oprah.com, CNN, Huffington Post, Bustle, Kerrang!, The Guardian, The Times, and other local, national and international publications.
