Paula Hillman

Paula Hillman is a British author known for her novels that blend literary flair with compelling storylines. She gained recognition for her recent works, including Halfmoon Lane (2024), and has received praise for her engaging plots and characters.

Paula Hillman was born and raised in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. The town, known for its shipbuilding industry and coastal location, significantly influenced her work. Paula studied science in college and specialized in it for her bachelor's degree in teaching.

After thirty-two years in teaching, including roles as a teacher and deputy head, Paula became a full-time writer. She had previously written texts and play scripts as part of her teaching career but wanted to focus more on her writing. She describes writing as therapeutic, similar to walking in nature.

Paula's literary career began with the release of several novels. Her first notable work, Seaview House (2023), is a literary mystery. The Cottage (2023), a dark romance, followed. In November 2023, she released Blackthorn Wood.

In early 2024, Paula published Chapel Field and continued with "Halfmoon Lane in June 2024. Halfmoon Lane is a thriller where a weekend of passion places Nina, the protagonist, at the center of a scandal after the mysterious death of Gabriel Da Silva, a busker. The novel explores themes of love and conscience.

Paula is working on her sixth novel, set in a cemetery. She often finds inspiration while walking through her hometown.

In addition to her novels, Paula has written a memoir about her teaching career, sharing insights from over three decades in the field.
