Gregory A. Kompes

Gregory A. Kompes is an American author of 19 books (fiction, poetry, nonfiction), contributed to over a dozen anthologies, and has written hundreds of published articles and essays on a wide range of topics.

Gregory A. Kompes was born and grew up in Ohio but has lived in many places, including Sarasota and New York City. He holds a BA in English Literature from Columbia University, New York, a Certificate in Online Teaching and Learning an MS Ed. from California State University, and an MFA in Creative Writing from National University.

"Mrs. Dalloway and To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf offered me a turning point in my desire to become a writer." Gregory Kompes said.

His first book, 50 Fabulous Gay-Friendly Places to Live, came out in 2005. Since then, Kompes has written a dozen books, both nonfiction and fiction. He is most known as a contemporary gay fiction author.

Gregory A. Kompes is also the founder and facilitator of The Writer Workshop and teaches for Southern New Hampshire University’s MFA program.

Gregory A. Kompes lives in Las Vegas.
