Alyxandra Harvey is a Canadian author of historical romance and young adult fantasy. She is most known for The Drake Chronicles books (2010–2020), a vampire retelling of the Snow White story with seven vampires brothers instead of dwarves.
Alyxandra Harvey was born in Montreal. She began writing from an early childhood vacation at the age of nine. Before becoming a full-time novelist, she worked for an archaeologist as a volunteer, cleaning and cataloging bones and pottery bits. Harvey also worked as a jewelry designer and used to own a bead shop.
Her debut books Waking (2006) and Broken (2008) were not critically acclaimed until 2009 when she released Hearts At Stake/ My Love Lies Bleeding, the first book in the Drake Chronicles series.
The Drake family is vampires, some of which date all the back to the twelfth century. Solange, a child from the Drake family, is the only known born female, and she is a threat to the vampire queen. There are now 11 books in the series.
She is also the author of The Lovegrove Legacy series (2014–2018), Cinderella Society Books (2022), and several standalone novels, including Haunting Violet and Stolen Away (both 2011).
Alyxandra Harvey lives in a Victorian stone house in Ontario with her husband and three dogs.
