    You will gain the most from the workbook if you work through it carefully:

    Each chapter begins with a one-paragraph summary of the principle that will be discussed in that chapter. Review this summary to gain a clear vision of the intention of the exercises in that chapter.
    Commit to writing out or performing each activity. Sometimes you may need to do an exercise more than once—as a practice. It’s no different than when you learn to swim or play a musical instrument; sometimes you need repetition and practice to really get it, even though you understand the mechanics. You need experience working with your mind and body in order to cultivate trust in the inner wisdom from your body.
    As a useful adjunct, read the most recent edition of Intuitive Eating. While this workbook can stand alone, we think that you will find it helpful to read more of the rationale behind each principle, as well as detailed discussion of the case studies and research.
