Sophie Beckett never dreamed she'd be able to sneak into Lady Bridgerton's famed masquerade ball—or that “Prince Charming” would be waiting there for her! Though the daughter of an earl, Sophie has been relegated to the role of servant by her disdainful stepmother. But now, spinning in the strong arms of the debonair and devastatingly handsome Benedict Bridgerton, she feels like royalty. Alas, she knows all enchantments must end when the clock strikes midnight.
Who was that extraordinary woman? Ever since that magical night, a radiant vision in silver has blinded Benedict to the attractions of any other—except, perhaps, this alluring and oddly familiar beauty dressed in housemaid's garb whom he feels compelled to rescue from a most disagreeable situation. He has sworn to find and wed his mystery miss, but this breathtaking maid makes him weak with wanting her. Yet, if he offers her his heart, will Benedict sacrifice his only chance for a fairy tale love?

Tercer libro. Parece difícil hacer una historia de amor diferente en la misma familia y ahí va y lo logra.

“I can live with you hating me,” he said to the closed door. “I just can’t live without you.”

“You bloody fool,” he swore. “Do you have any idea how dangerous it is in the world for a woman alone?”

“Er, yes,” she managed. “Actually, I do.”

    “You’re blushing,” he accused.

    “No, I’m not.”

    “Yes,” he said, “you are.”

“If I’m blushing,” she replied pertly, “it’s because I’m wondering why you would think you had any reason to apologize.”

“You have a rather smart mouth for a servant,” he said.

“I’m sorry,” Sophie said quickly. She had to remember her place. But that was hard to do with this man, the one member of the ton who had treated her—if only for a few hours—as an equal.

“I meant it as a compliment,” he said. “Do not stifle yourself on my account.”

    She said nothing.

“I find you rather . . .” He paused, obviously searching for the correct word. “Refreshing.”
