The Count of Monte Cristo is an adventure novel featured on ABC\'s Once Upon a Time. It was written by French author Alexandre Dumas (père) in 1844. The Count of Monte Cristo is one of the great thrillers of all time. In 1853 William Thackeray wrote to a friend: \'began to read Monte Cristo at six one mornings and never stopped till eleven at night.\'
