hand between the front seats. Daniel looked at Tony for permission before shaking his friend’s hand. He took Tony’s smile and slight nod as his acceptance. Reaching out, Daniel tried to meet the firm grip of Jace’s handshake. This close, Jace was even more attractive than he’d first thought. Daniel could feel the tears stinging his eyes.

“Tony’s talked almost non-stop about you since you met in your studio.” Jace released his hand and sat back in his seat.

As soon as he pulled back into traffic, Tony reached over and held Daniel’s hand as he talked to Jace about the town. He pointed out several areas of interest on their way to the restaurant. Daniel couldn’t even look at Tony, he felt so ashamed. Tony was gorgeous and he sure deserved someone a lot better than him.

“Daniel?” Tony asked, giving his hand a squeeze.

It was then Daniel realised they were parked and Jace was already standing in front of the car. “I’m sorry,” he apologised. “I was thinking about something else.”

    “Are you okay, sweetheart?”

“I won’t embarrass you, I promise.” Daniel pulled away and got out of the car. He smoothed the wrinkles from his old clothes and walked behind Tony and Jace into the restaurant. Something told him it was going to be a long night.
