Recognizing people's "inner child" is another way to understand their deepest motives.

According to Swiss psychologist Carl Jung, the shadow consists of everything in ourselves that we'd rather not look at. They are the parts of ourselves that we conceal from both others and ourselves. Humans have a hard time seeing their flaws because of emotions like fear, panic, rage, and arrogance.

Shadows are interesting because they continue to exist even when they are not at the forefront of our minds. In reality, they may reveal themselves in less obvious ways, such as via actions, ideas, and emotions, or by showing themselves in nightmares or unexpected lapses of self-control. If we take the time to notice and interpret these traits in other people, we may understand and interact with them better.

Are they driven by desire, hate, like and dislike, pleasure and pain, fear, obligation, habit, or force?

When reading people’s behavior, the key is to be aware of their motivations. You have to be aware of what fuels their fire. Why do they do this? Why do they do that?

Defense of the Ego

The third stage is love and belonging. Now that you know you will make it through, you may realize how hollow life may be if you don't have somebody to share it with.

The fourth stage is self-esteem. After securing relationships, you must ensure they are healthy ones that will make you feel confident and supported.
