Colm Keena

Colm Keena is Public Affairs Correspondent with The Irish Times and former reporter with the Irish Press. After a career exposing the links between business and politics, Keena entered the public spotlight in 2006 when he broke the story of the Mahon Tribunal’s inquiry into Taoiseach Bertie Ahern’s finances. His refusal to disclose his sources for that story to the tribunal was later vindicated in a ruling of the Supreme Court.Keena has written about the financial and political history of a number of prominent Irish politicians, including Bertie Ahern (Bertie: Power and Money), Gerry Adams (A Biography of Gerry Adams) and Charlie Haughey (Haughey’s Millions and The Ansbacher Conspiracy). He is also an award-winning short story writer and the author of one novel.
