Blanca De La Rosa

Blanca De La Rosa is an author and former business executive known for her works Pursuing a Better Tomorrow (2019) and A Holistic Approach to Your Career (2021). Born in the Dominican Republic, De La Rosa emigrated to the United States and grew up in Manhattan's Upper West Side projects. She overcame the challenges of cultural and linguistic transition, eventually earning a bachelor's degree in international business management from Pace University.

Her career began at Mobil, where she rose through the ranks over the course of 34 years, and continued at ExxonMobil after the two companies merged. Her work spanned domestic and international roles, taking her to the US, Europe, Latin America and Nigeria.

De La Rosa has held numerous leadership positions, including Business Development Manager. She also served as president and vice president of ExxonMobil's Global Organization for the Advancement of Latinos (GOAL), a resource group that promotes the professional growth of Hispanic employees.

She actively participated in GOAL's diversity initiatives and represented ExxonMobil at events like the Hispanic Heritage Foundation's scholarship awards.

Mentoring became one of De La Rosa's passions, as she found great fulfilment in guiding young professionals within her company. "The most rewarding part of my career," she said, "was helping others navigate the corporate maze and reach their potential."

After retiring from ExxonMobil, De La Rosa turned to writing. Her books draw on her professional experiences to offer advice and strategies for overcoming obstacles in the workplace.

Her first book, Empower Yourself for an Amazing Career (published by Balboa Press), provides practical guidance for career advancement. De La Rosa shares personal stories of challenges and triumphs in the corporate world, emphasising the importance of perseverance and self-empowerment.
