THE WAR WAS SIMPLE. THEN THEY REMOVED THE HELMET.

After decades of brutal conflict, Terran forces finally capture Commander Gordon Monihan—a feared Spacer officer believed to be part of an inhuman hive-mind. But when Lieutenant Lucian Aris breaks protocol and removes Monihan’s helmet, he finds not a monster, but a man.

Imprisoned and cut off from the neural network that once filled his mind with constant presence and connection, Monihan is plunged into a deafening silence that begins to unravel his sanity. Worse still, the Terrans subject him to a tribunal designed to prove he is not human. Every emotion is reclassified as programming. Every moral choice becomes evidence against him.

To prove his humanity is to guarantee execution for war crimes.

To fail is to be reduced to a machine—dissected, studied, erased.

Years later, Monihan’s story has become legend. But legends are shaped by silence, and the truth of what really happened has been carefully buried.

A tense psychological science-fiction audiobook about identity, consciousness, and the terrifying power of who gets to decide what makes someone human. Book 1 in The Galatean Saga: December Chronicles.

“Thoughtful, restrained science fiction that trusts the listener to sit with discomfort.”
