"I love you, Shannon like the river," he said then, breaking through my depressing thoughts. "Only you." Leaning back so that I had no choice but to lift my face and look at him, he smirked. "Like a crazy fucking amount."

"I love you, too," I strangled out, voice thick with emotion, giving him back his words. "Like a crazy fucking amount."

"I don't have any money."

"I have," Johnny whispered back, holding my head in place with his hand. "And I'm paying." Pressing a kiss to my lips, he added, "So don't overthink this."

"Because I'm not taking your virginity in this house, Shannon!" he growled, jaw clenched. "On an after-school whim, with your brother's fucking condom." He shook his head. "I'm not doing that, baby."

"I don't mind, Johnny," I urged. "Honestly, I don't."

"Well, I mind," he shot back, pulling himself up on his elbows. "I'm not having sex with you and skulking out the door an hour later because your family will be home." Groaning, he pressed a kiss to my lips and climbed off me. "You deserve better, and I'm not doing that to you."

"When we sleep together, I want us to sleep together." He looked over his shoulder, blue eyes blazing. "All night."

"I'm with you. All of you. Every part. Good and bad. I'm staying. So, don’t hide this part from me."

"I already told you, I need you for keeps," I replied gruffly. "There's no expiration date between us."

"I'm in love with you, Shannon. I'm completely fucking hooked on you, so when you're hurt, it affects me. It hurts me. I can't pretend that it doesn't."

"I want you," he growled into my mouth, as he worked his finger inside me, moving slowly, in and out, deep and drugging. "More than I've ever wanted anyone in my entire life." Kissing me hard, he pulled out only to push a second finger inside me. "Fuck, you're so wet, baby." Trembling, I clung to him, bucking my hips excitedly. "So fucking tight… shite, is this okay?"

"It's the clothes and makeup."

"It's the girl," I corrected, giving her hand a squeeze.

Smiling, he lifted his arm and I slid into the space. "I like where we are, Shan." His words curled around my heart like a comfort blanket. "We'll get there when we get there," he added after a contented pause of silence. "I'm not in any hurry." I felt his lips brush the top of my head. "Not with you."
