Great Englishwomen / An Historical Reading Book for Schools

A lot of things follow from the election of the target group for this book: children who are in the quest of learning. In the first place, it shows history as a story. Sources do not matter, mainly the telling of the life of an influential woman. This short biography is presented too magical and forgets to show people as real humans and often exaggerates on human good attitudes and on the effects of these women's lives and actions. Women are also depicted as "angels" and obedient, bent to love parents, husbands and children. Women who do not fall in this idea motherly life are lacking in this book.
Nonetheless, I have found this book enriching and prompting further research. It works, then, as an appetizer for learning.
