The Smoke of Horses

He is an amateur archaeologist and a student of many musical instruments. He lives in Connecticut with his wife and two daughters.

By day, he works for an information technology research company, and by night, he directs the MFA program at Albertus Magnus College and teaches at the Westport Writers’ Workshop.

His collection of short fiction is Saturday Night at Magellan’s. Rafferty’s work has appeared in such places as The New Yorker, O, Oprah Magazine, The Southern Review, TriQuarterly, DoubleTake, Louisiana Literature, Prairie Schooner, Quarterly West, Massachusetts Review, Poetry Daily, Verse Daily, Per Contra, and Ploughshares.
