I stared at her, waiting for her to say something, to tell me everything was going to be okay. When she smiled, there was a faraway look in her eyes, like her thoughts were somewhere else.

Both choices scared me.

But too much had changed

Don’t use what you know how to do to hurt people.
Because once you know this stuff, you have responsibility.

MUSCLES ARE FOR HIGH SCHOOL. BRAINS ARE FOR LIFE.

My heart clenched like a fist.

A problem is solved one step at a time.

Never use what you know to hurt people.

There was no one who I could look at who would look back at me.
