'Enchanting, achingly funny and uplifting, Ayesha at Last is a must read!' Randa Abdel-Fattah

A big-hearted, captivating, modern-day Muslim Pride and Prejudice, with hijabs instead of top hats and kurtas instead of corsets.

AYESHA SHAMSI has a lot going on. Her dreams of being a poet have been overtaken by a demanding teaching job. Her boisterous Muslim family, and numerous (interfering) aunties, are professional naggers. And her flighty young cousin, about to reject her one hundredth marriage proposal, is a constant reminder that Ayesha is still single.
Ayesha might be a little lonely, but the one thing she doesn't want is an arranged marriage. And then she meets Khalid… How could a man so conservative and judgmental (and, yes, smart and annoyingly handsome) have wormed his way into her thoughts so quickly?
As for Khalid, he's happy the way he is; his mother will find him a suitable bride. But why can't he get the captivating, outspoken Ayesha out of his mind? They're far too different to be a good match, surely…

A book about marriage and love in a Muslim setting. It resembles pride and prejudice alot 💕.
Ayesha Shamsi (Elizabeth Bennett) , an unmarried girl in her late 20's loves poetry rather than her recent job being a substitute teacher at a school. She thinks about others and tries to keep others happy without thinking about what would make her happy and what she really wants.
Khalid marzi (Mr. Darcy) , with a well settled job and family. He's of the opinion that love comes after marriage. He is stuck between religious diversity.

When I read the book I was in so much in a cliff hang situation that what's gonna happen next. When Ayesha and Khalid first meet, the misinterpretation that they built about each other, OH GOSH that's so much tension, like alot🥵!!! What made me worry so much was that Khalid took Ayesha to be Hafsa. I was constantly praying he finds out because Khalid and Hafsa weren't the match😏🙈. It's was more of Ayesha and Khalid 🤭😍. But then finally they get a second chance and all the plots are resolved. That was when my heart felt calm 💖.
If you have read Jane Austen's pride and prejudice then this is definitely your next read 🔥🙌.
